Special Circumstance: Fire & Smoke Care
Fires, even those not directly impacting your aquarium, can severely compromise aquatic health due to **smoke, soot, and chemicals** released into the air. These airborne pollutants can dissolve into your tank water, causing rapid declines in water quality, oxygen levels, and directly poisoning fish and invertebrates.
- Toxic Air: Smoke and airborne toxins are deadly for fish.
- Soot & Residue: Can accumulate on the water surface and introduce pollutants.
- Oxygen Depletion: Fire consumes oxygen, which can impact air quality for air pumps.
- Water Quality Crash: Toxins can lead to ammonia/nitrite spikes.
If your area has been affected by a fire, even if your tank seems okay, we highly recommend taking immediate action to protect your aquatic life.

- **Rapid, unexplained mass fish mortality**
- **Power outage lasting several hours impacting critical equipment (e.g., pumps, filters, heaters)**
- **Sudden, drastic changes in water parameters leading to severe distress in livestock**
